SCALE SYSTEMS - the perfect match to complement and automate our extensive range of MILLS, MIXERS and PENCIL AUGERS. There really is no point in having high capacity feed processing equipment if you are forced to spend valuable time watching your equipment working.
SCALE SYSTEMS are based on a weighing system. Usually load-cells would be placed under the MIXER (or other weigh vessel) and the current weight of product in the MIXER displayed on the weight indicator.
Ranging from simple 'display weight only' systems to full 'multiple recipe, multiple ingredient, batching' systems, we have a SCALE to match your requirements.
Models and capabilities of our SCALE SYSTEMS are :-
- OPTION 1A - simple displaying of weight only,
- OPTION 1B - as above but with 2 user set-points (relays that trip at user defined weights),
- OPTION 1C - same as 1B but 4 user set-points,
- OPTION 2A - PLC controlled automated feed production (1 recipe of 1 product) through MILL and into MIXER with manual control of mixing cycle and MIXER emptying,
- OPTION 2B - as above but with 1 recipe of 3 products automated through the MILL and into the MIXER (no automation of items after MIXER),
- OPTION 3 - Takes off where the OPTION 2 finishes. Has 2 recipes (of 3 products) and empties the MIXER contents to 1 of 2 silo's. Useful for production of calf feed and dairy feed. Runs 1 batch or repeats the batch if required to fill end silo
- OPTION 4 - The bee's knee's. Make 10 recipes from 10 ingredients, ADDITIVE and LIQUID SUPPLEMENT cycle, mixing cycle, out-load MIXER contents to 2 or more silo's, repeat batching till end silo is full, repeat batch a given number of times,
- SWITCH BOARD MODULES - to suit OPTION 2 and greater. Built complete with all circuit protection and contactor gear. Pre-wired and configured to ensure correct system operation and to decrease electrical installation time.
Standard features include :-
- Premium quality Australian made and owned GEDGE SYSTEMS weight displays. GEDGE SYSTEMS supply indicators to the world market and are second to none for both their products and support,
- Quality Gedge Systems load cells,
- Mitsubishi Automation PLC's and communication blocks,
- Full kit of MIXER mounting plates, bolts and threads,
- Are complete with quality load cell cabling, load cell summing board and lightning protection,
- Are fully tested and configured in-house to ensure correct system operation.
To further complement a SCALE SYSTEM installation we also manufacture other custom controls such as HOPPER EXTENSIONS and MILL ROLL CONTROLLERS which aid in further automation of your system.

MILL CONTROLLERS - if your budget can not cover a SCALE SYSTEM then a MILLING CONTROLLER may be the answer to help automate your MILL and PENCIL AUGERS. Based on PLC control, these controllers simplify the production of feed and free you up to tackle more attentive jobs.
MILLING CONTROLLERS are simple control packages that incorporate PLC control, all circuit protection and control gear, ADDITIVE DISPENSER control and LIQUID SUPPLEMENT PUMP control.
The range starts at simple 'feed on demand' systems targeted at an installation with our HM5RME MILL and continue up installations based on the HM12DRME MILL.
Models and capabilities of our MILL CONTROLLERS are :-
- SYSTEM 1 - we do not know what a SYSTEM 1 will do yet but we had to start somewhere,
- SYSTEM 2 - 'feed on demand' milling of 1 product directly into dairy bales. MILL is generally located under the whole grain silo outlet and an electric slide is opened to allow the grain to be milled (MILL is fitted with a slide gate top). Grain is taken away from the MILL by a flexi-auger (PVC cased auger) or a CABLEVEY © system.,
- SYSTEM 3 - MILL is generally under the feed silo outlet and MILL is equipped with an electric slide gate (and slide gate top). MILL out-load is by a PENCIL AUGER that loads into a silo. System processes grain until user instigates a STOP or silo high level switch is tripped,
- SYSTEM 4 - Same as SYSTEM 3 but the MILL has a top hopper (instead of a slide gate top) and a PENCIL AUGER is used to convey grain from the feed silo to the MILL,
- SYSTEM 5 - Same as SYSTEM 4 but designed to handle 2 simultaneous grains into a HM12DRME MILL. Configurable as single feed processing or concurrent dual feed processing.
Standard features include :-
- Mitsubishi Automation PLC control of complete cycle,
- Moeller circuit protection and contactors,
- Full error monitoring, display and shutdown control,
- HOPPER PROXIMITY SWITCH in SYSTEM 4 and 5 controllers - the switch detects grain in the MILL top hopper and stops the feed auger for a user set time period, after which the feed auger starts again. This eliminates the need to regulate the flow-rate of grain out of the grain silo's,
- Are supplied with D.I.P. rated silo high level (or silo full) switches to comply with state codes,
- Are fully tested and configured in-house to ensure correct system operation,
- Are customizable to some degree (e.g. SYSTEM 4 controller can have more that 1 feed grain and more than 1 out-load silo).

and MILL ROLL CONTROLLERS which aid in further automation of your system.
