KEOGH 'GRUNTER' AUGERS & BELTS

B. Keogh and Sons range of GRUNTER AUGERS and BELTS are the answer to fast, effective and reliable grain movement. With diameters ranging from 250 mm (10") to 350 mm (14") and lengths from 18.3 metres (60') through to 30.5 metres (100') were sure to have a unit to meet your requirements.

The main feature of these units is the self contained diesel engine that powers the complete hydraulic system. Hydraulic features include steering, ground drive, main auger drive, main auger lift, secondary lift and drive of the optional units which can include any or all of :-

  • A Swing Away Hopper,
  • A Reclaim Front,
  • A 2 Way Divertor on the auger outlet,
  • A Rotating Outlet Spout and
  • An adjustable Outlet Chute.

Typical users of these machine types include bulk grain storages, feed millers and those requiring fast and effective material conveying.

The main auger can be used with any of the above attachments and also in a more conventional setup by removing the attachment which reveals a standard endcage arrangement for fitting into hoppers and silo's.

Renowned (and expected) KEOGH heavy duty materials and construction techniques are abundant in these units with standard issue of 3 mm tube, 4.8 mm flite, 6 mm flite on pickups, generously sized centre pipe and joiners, 4 mm auger channel and heavy RHS style frames. Couple these features with the over sized 16" or 20" Bedford rims and tyres (different types available), telescopic hydraulic main lift rams and either a CATERPILLAR or DETROIT diesel engine coupled with a professionally engineered hydraulics and you can begin to appreciate that these units easily outweigh other local and imported models.

BELT units are very similar to the auger units except of course for the replacement of the tube & belt assembly. Infact, one could use the same undercarriage frame and power plant for both an auger and belt unit.

We use an endless type belt (no actual physical belt end joiner) with a crescent top pattern (belt has half moon extrusions) to softly convey the material. Belts are especially suitable for moving delicate products like beans, peas and super-phosphate.

The drive section on the belt GRUNTERS uses an 'S' drive to ensure positive transfer of drive power from the rubber lagged drive roll to the belt. Other manufacturers skimp on the drive which only leads to unit slippage and therefore customer dis-satisfaction.

Don't hesitate to call and ask about any GRUNTER AUGER or BELT models. This webpage cannot do justice to the heavy design and features included in these units, so ring and organize a visit to our Bendigo factory to inspect a unit.
